5km’s used to feel like a marathon for me. Now it’s a great reason to get some fresh air, build up those endorphins and feel less guilty about the pizza & wine. There are no right or wrong reasons to run but it’s amazing what you can achieve when you set your mind to it!
“Fastest 5k” has been an absolute game changer for me. I learnt all about my heart rate zones, tempo runs, stretching and strength training which I will definitely continue to use going forward. I also shaved 5 full minutes off my 5km time, which I had been trying to drop for months and haven’t gotten it right. Thank you for the daily messages, videos and exercises. It was great and I would definitely do it again!
I joined the Couch 2 5km with Michelle at the beginning of 2020 and the support, encouragement, and camaraderie I found was unbelievable. Michelle is an exceptional leader and under her guidance our whole group of girls accomplished things we could only have dreamed of previously. We finally completed our first 5km run at the beginning of March 2020 and I was so grateful for the entire experience and the magnificent community I was welcomed into.
The Couch to 5K with Michelle was the only program that has actually worked for me. From the short strength training and constant to well thought out training program, as well as the having supportive and knowledgeable leader and camaraderie of the team, it was everything I needed to overcome my fear for cardio and ‘just not being a runner’. We took it one day at a time and I was amazed at my own body’s progress evident from week to week.
I found the whole couch to 5km programme incredibly helpful, motivating and fun. I would never have got back on the roads again without it so thank you very much for all the effort you put it into it. I look forward to the 5km to 10km programme some time in the future.
